Welcome to the Diocese of Oakland! This website was created to advance our diocesan mission to know Christ better and to make Him better known.
In every age, the Church must use the best available means of communication to proclaim the truth of the Gospel. And so Pope Benedict XVI enjoined us to be a part of the Internet revolution: "In this field too we are called to proclaim our faith that Christ is God."
You are encouraged to learn more about our diocese through the information gathered here. Like all websites, ours is a work in progress. Please return often as we add information we hope will broaden your understanding of the work done in His name by the local church.
